Dr. Beata (bay-ata) 'Bliss' Lewis is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist in private practice. She works with children, teenagers, and adults. Dr. Lewis graduated with a degree in biology from Harvard University, and earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed adult psychiatry training at Columbia University and child psychiatrytraining at the NYU Child Study Center. She is board certified in adult psychiatry, child psychiatry and integrative holistic medicine. Her areas of interest include psychotherapy, integrative psychopharmacology, mind-body medicine, and nutrition. Dr. Lewis is a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU and teaches an undergraduate course called Complementary and Alternative Mental Health.

Drawing from her extensive education and expertise, Dr. Lewis integrates conventional mental health treatments with alternative and complementary approaches. She tailors treatment to the needs and interests of each client, and may incorporate psychotherapy, psychotropic medication management, breath and relaxation work, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, biofeedback, hypnosis, nutrition, and herbal remedies.

Dr. Lewis’ approaches to working with children and teenagers include talk therapy, family therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, nutritional, educational, and lifestyle modifications, and biofeedback.

Dr. Lewis focuses on anxiety and mood disorders, insomnia, ADHD in children and adults, trauma, stress reduction, chronic illness, disordered eating, and adjustment and relationship issues.
