Beata Bliss Lewis, M.D. does not participate in any insurance as an in-network provider. We do work with most out-of-network plans. If you have out of network benefits with your insurance we will bill insurance for you and you will be responsible for the difference between the cost of the sessions and what your insurance covers. Typically insurances will cover between 50% and 80% of the cost of sessions.
Questions to ask your insurance provider:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health?
- Do I have a deductible for mental health services?
- At what rate will I be reimbursed for mental health services (the usual range is 50% to 80%)?
For BCBS you pay directly to the clinician and then we file for reimbursement with your insurance company. For Aetna, Cigna and United/Oxford we bill insurance directly and you are responsible for the difference in the cost. Insurance companies take between four to eight weeks on average to process reimbursement claims.
We can support you in this process, and are available to answer your insurance-related questions to the best of our ability.
The fees for the initial evaluation and follow up treatment vary depending on the type of evaluation and treatment as well as the financial circumstances of the patient. You are welcome to pay by credit card, check or cash—whatever method is most convenient for you. We will provide you with an invoice to serve as proof of payment for insurance and/or your personal records.
Please note that we do have a 48 hour cancellation policy. We understand that things come up, and sometimes the need to reschedule or cancel arises. Please communicate with us by phone or email at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment if you wish to reschedule or cancel. We do reserve the right to bill you for your appointment if you do not notify us 48 hours prior to the time you have scheduled.
